Parks & Recreation

We may not have a college, but we do have parks. Because our community was designed before everyone had a car, it was designed with many green spaces within easy walking distances from homes. Our parks and recreation facilities vary greatly, ranging from a golf course, to large parks with playgrounds and fields, to small quiet retreats and lake shores.

Recreation Facilities

In addition to all of the parks below, College Park has several public recreation amenities.

• College Park Community Center
  College Park Community Center is a wonderful college park asset. CPNA meets here monthly. The center has a computer lab, game room, weight room, and indoor basketball court. In addition it provides after school programs, seniors programs, and even classes, such as fencing.
   
• College Park Pool
  During most of the year, the College Park Pool is open to members for exercise in its swim lanes. During the summer it has additional swimming programs and even some time set aside for free swim for children.
   
• Dubsdread Golf Course
  Dubsdread Golf course is a gem of the community and the city. Originally opened in 1923, this golf course, with its narrow fairways, was dreaded by beginning players (or "dubs"). It has been played on by such big names as Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and Babe Zaharias. It underwent a six million dollar renovation in 2007 and 08 to make it the great course it is today.

Parks & Playgrounds

Below is a list of the parks within our boundaries, with links to some details on the City of Orlando site.

• Albert Park
  Albert Park is a small park at the heart of College Park. CPNA hold's its annual Easter Egg hunt here. Santa Claus can be seen here during Holiday on the Drive. Also, CPNA holds its Politics in the Park Candidate Forums at the park. 
   
• Dartmouth Park
  Dartmouth Park is a well shaded park with a small exercise course and playground that gets great afternoon shade. The park also plays host to CPNA's Sunday in the Park.
   
• Don Dudley Park
  Don Dudley Park is a small and pretty green space on the shore of Lake Concord.
   
• Guernsey Park
  Guernsey Park is a beautiful and somewhat unknown park tucked away within the neighborhood. It has a small pond and bridge, playground, and small basketball court.
   
• Ivanhoe Plaza Park
  Ivanhoe Plaza Park is a nice quiet green space within the neighborhood-a calm spot to visit and relax.
   
• Lake Adair Park
  Lake Adair Park is mostly the shoreline along the lake. It is a lovely and tranquil spot that affords a beautiful walk around its shores. 
   
• Lake Ivanhoe Park
  Lake Ivanhoe Park surrounds Lake Ivanhoe and offers vistas of downtown. On its eastern side is a boat ramp, playground, volleyball court and more.
   
• Mathews Park
  Mathews Park is one of our larger, more open parks. It has a baseball field, open field, and playground.
   
• Overbrook Park
  Overbrook Park is a natural setting that follows a natural creek. It is a great addition to a walk around Lake Adair.
   
• Princeton Park
  Princeton Park is a popular and well shaded playground behind Princeton Elementary school.
