Well, of course, first on the list should be you, but if you want to know which vendors are here too, and where they are located, here is our final list and layout...

Spring is here and its one of the nicest times of the year in College Park. The weather and the events make braving the pollen and leaves well worth the effort.

    Sunday in the Park
We like to think that the Spring season’s events are kicked off with Sunday in the Park. This is our twentieth and promises to be as fantastic as ever - and if you tried to go last year - well there is no rain in the forecast (whew!).

As usual, we have a great entertainment line up. We’ll also have great local vendors, so be sure to visit the businesses and organizations at Sunday in the Park. And of course we'll be hosting our Best Brownies in College Park contest. Finally we'll have many wonderful things for kids, from bounce houses to pony rides. (Remember, your membership entitles you to two free wristbands giving access to all kid’s activities!)

    Recognizing 20 Years
This year’s Sunday in the Park is a special one: the City is recognizing CPNA for 20 years of our two signature events, Sunday in the Park and the Historic Homes Tour. So be sure to come out and celebrate with us -- it’s a testament to some diligent members of the organization that arrange these events year after year, and to our neighborhood and all the neighbors who support us in ways large and small.

So be sure to be at Dartmouth Park this Sunday in the Park, where you will see most of your neighbors enjoying one of our great traditions.

    But Wait There’s More…
But that’s not all there is to look forward to in the Spring, Sunday in the Park is just the beginning. Here’s a quick list of a few of the highlights:
I’m sure I missed some, so be sure to check our calendar. We try to make sure everyone is aware of all of the events going on. (Members are even sent reminders, though you can always opt out too.)

We hope to see you at all of them this Spring!

At our March meeting we enjoyed a presentation from Sue-Bee Laginess of Scooters 4 Hooters. Scooters 4 Hooters is a 22-mile, police escorted ride of more than 250 scooters through Orlando. The ride serves as a fund raiser for breast cancer awareness and also funds breast cancer screenings. Last year the event raised over $72,000 with a fund raising goal this year of $100,000.

The ride will come through College Park on April 16, traveling down Edgewater Drive before continuing on to Lake Eola Park for the after party and Music Fest. We encourage you to come out and cheer on the riders or get involved in the event. For more information visit www.scooters4hooters.com.

At out February meeting, Ginger Corless returned to update us on the latest results of the Lymmo Study. We had a great discussion about how the potential routes are chosen and the possibility of a route into College Park.

Two of the alternates include a route to the center of College Park. You can see the latest, updated materials, here.

If you have any interest in free or low cost, transportation at 10 minute intervals to get, you to commuter rail, loch haven park, and/or downtown, be sure to visit http://www.lymmostudy.com.

While there also let your voice be heard in their online survey: http://www.lymmostudy.com/north_south_survey.php

At our February meeting, Jim Martin gave us a presentation about Operation Lifesaver, and rail safety.

With railroad tracks bordering both the east and west boundaries of College Park and the potential for SunRail traffic in coming years, this unique presentation on rail safety was highly pertinent to our community.
